Temple Square

So thanks to Michelle and Robert I went to see the lights on Temple Square. It was a lot of fun.. Thanks Michelle for our little detour!! Anyways before we ventured up we went to the Mayan! Pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Then it was off to temple square. You think I would be used to crazy Utah drivers by now but no. They get crazier and crazier especially down town Salt Lake. After a few road rage moments I met back up with Michelle and Rob to make our journey a few blocks to the temple. It was beautiful. I really had a great time! I hope to take Ethan up there this next week so that he can see the lights!

Ella!!

So I have a little catching up to do with the blogging but I just wanted to post the pictures for Michelle and for Uncle Bill so that he could see how well my new camera works.

Ella came down to stay with me tonight. It has been so fun! We went to eat at IHOP and then we ventured up to Thanksgiving Point to see Santa's Reindeer. Ella went crazy.. She had a lot of fun. Then we got Cold Stone and rented Wall-E to watch. Then Ella wanted me to paint her finger nails and toe nails. If I do say so myself I think we had a pretty great time!

Manti and Wrong Turns!

So I'm a few weeks behing but here it goes. So a couple of weeks ago Ethan an I had quite the adventure! And I also discovered that maps do not help in the slightest bit. The day started out like any other day really! Ethan and I (well mostly me) decided that we would go on a drive. Ethan is always talking about seeing the temple so I thought it might be fun to go to the Manti temple. We headed out and it was a very pleasant drive if I do say so myself! When we got there Ethan kept calling it the Castle Temple. It was really funny!

So we left and I decided to get back on the interstate through Nephi. The only problem was that I had know idea how to get back to Nephi. That was not the way I went into Manti. So I followed Highway 89 to a junction and instead of turning the way I should I decided to go to Salina. Nice little town. Except I took moms advice and decided to get a map. Wrong choice. I read the map and followed the signs and somehow ended up on the interstate that was taking me to Grand Junction CO. What the weird. So I turned around and threw the map on the floor and went the way I had originally planned. Crazy...But it was the right way in the first place! Haha So needless to say. I HATE MAPS! All in all it was a pretty good trip!

Long Awaited!!

So as most of you know last Friday was my birthday... And for my birthday I decided to go on one of my infamous drives to the middle of nowhere!! In case you don't know, I usually go on long drives to random places and something weird usually happens. Anyways, I was spending my birthday alone (waiting for mom and Ethan to get down here) so I decided I would go to Delta. I figured it could be a fun little drive.. And it actually was.. Nothing too out of the ordinary happened. I did however stop in the small mining town of Eureka. And took a picture of the old city hall.. And needless to say it is a little creepy. The first picture is one of the whole building. Normal right? Until you look a little closer at the top window on your right.. They have a mannequin boy dressed in older day attire just sitting there. What are they trying to make everyone think the have ghosts.. Strange really...

Later that night Ethan and mom arrived and Ethan gave me some flowers and a card for my birthday. It was soo cute.. I love him so much. On Saturday Michelle came down to spend the day with us. We spent the day shopping. We went to Red Robin for dinner and then mom made me birthday cake.. So needless to say I was happy with celebrating my birthday a day late (as long as I had my birthday cake) Thanks mom and Michelle for celebrating with this old person!! Love you all.

PS Ashlee here is the picture of the house in Delta.. It really doesn't do the house justice. But here you go!!

Ethan Turns 3

So I can honestly say that it doesn't feel like Ethan is 3. First, he acts like such a big boy. Very independent and very smart, not to mention his size, I feel like he should be so much older. Sometimes I find myself thinking that it is weird that he is only going to be 3. But second, I feel like it was just yesterday that I was going to the hospital to have him. He is still my little baby boy and me being selfish want him to stay that way forever. Then I find myself thinking that I wish he wasn't turning 3. I'm torn. Oh well now onto the birthday boy.

So the start of the day wasn't very good. Ethan has been fighting this cold for the last week but when he woke up yesterday the cold had traveled to his eyes. He could hardly see out of them. I felt so bad for him. He didn't even want to go to Pre-school. But I got him there and told them if he got any worse to call me and I would come and get him.
By the time I got him they said his eyes had been running all day. The poor boy. But he seemed like he was having fun with all the kids. So I asked him if still wanted his birthday party and he said yes, he wanted his monster birthday. (I'm not really sure where he got that, all I know is one day I asked him what he was doing and he said he was going shopping for his monster birthday party!)
So Diana, Frank and the kids came over and we had a nice big party. We had pizza and cake and ice cream. He had such a good time. So by the end of the day needless to say we were both super tired.

It was a great day... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN!!!!

Day at Thanksgiving Point Farm

SCOOBY DOO!!

So we finally did it! Ethan got his Halloween costume today... On the way to Utah today he was telling Grandma about how I already had it for him. And when he came in and ran to his closet looking for it, I figured it was about time to get it. So we went to Target and he ran right for it and started screaming. It was one of the cutest things that I have ever seen. People were looking at him like he was crazy and I guess he kind of is...Crazy for Scooby Doo! So here are some pictures of his costume that he has been wearing non-stop since we walked in the door!

Sunday Drive

I decided to take Ethan on a drive today. I thought it would be fun to take a trip up through Provo Canyon and then take the Alpine Loop to Timp Cave. We drove all the to Heber City and then came back to the Alpine Loop which takes you past Sundance and into Aspen Grove. It was so beautiful. The leaves are just starting to change. This is my favorite time of year. It always seems so peaceful to be up in the crisp mountain air see all the many colors of the earth. Ethan even commented on it today. "Look mom, its pretty!" But the colors made me think of something of a poem my Grandma Florence wrote,

Autumn
Autumn moved in on Summer today.
He asked her to leave for he'd nowhere to stay.
So she packed up her things, like some sweet peas and such.
She had a long way to go, so she didn't take much.
Just the green from the leaves and a picnic or two-
She's done this before so she knew just what to do!
A meadowlark's song was tucked in her pocket,
Some corn tassel silk was saved in a locket.
She pinned a pink rose onto her lapel,
Though to pick the last one made her sad, I could tell.
She gave the lawn mower a last whirr as she left,
And the hedge watched her go, standing tall and bereft.
I thought Autumn would wait as she packed her green gown,
But that scoundrel was out, already painting the town!
She'll be sorely missed from the rumors I hear,
But I'm sure she'll come back, same time, next year!

Here are some of the pictures that made me think of it.

On the way down from the canyon we decided to stop at Bridal Veil Falls. It was a little of a hike so Ethan made me carry him for most of it. But we got there and it was very pretty.

All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing Sunday. We spent some quality time together taking in all the beautiful things in this world that we so often take for granted.

3 in 1 day!

I know you are all thinking this must be a mistake. I have posted 3 times today! But its true... I have to keep up to date with this thing. So this weekend I headed up to Idaho to suprise my mom and pick up Ethan. The first part of the plan worked out marvelously. I suprised mom at about 11:30. She was super excited! So then on Saturday I went to pick up Ethan. I decided that it was about time to take some pictures of him. He is growing up so fast. Sometimes I can't believe that he will be just 3. He amazes me everyday that I'm with him. So back to the pictures. We went out to the farm to take them and I sometimes think I have created a little robot. Everytime I said "Fold your arms," or "No put them behind your back;" he did it. How many 2 year olds do that. I'm not complaining though. Its great. While we were taking pictures the Hendrickson's came home and asked if we wanted to stay for awhile. Justin and Aubrie were there for a short visit and Diana and Chloe had come up to pick apples. Then Annie came out to visit. It was nice to have the little get together. We helped pick apples and then stayed for hamburgers. It was a really great weekend all together. Very relaxing, I loved it.

Well I think thats it for tonight. Don't expect too much from me. I'm just barely getting the hang of this thing. But I do promise to be more frequent in my blogs!!!

Oh and I almost forgot! Congrats Ash! I'm sooooo excited for you! Number 3 is a girl! (P.S. I love the name Gemma Julianne)

Ethan 3 Years

I'm BACK!!

So to popular demand, here I am! For lack of a better excuse I have just been lazy when it came to writing a blog so there you have it! (and the fact that nothing super exciting ever really happens to me doesn't help the fact!) Now that we have gotten past that little issue, lets get to the real reason why we are all here....Juicy Gossip~ Again something I am failing at but I do have a couple things to tell about...

You would think that being in Utah would make my life just that more interesting but sometimes it feels like a whole other planet... But thanks to Diana I feel a little more at home and have some company. For Chloe's birthday we all went to the Dinasour museum.. We all had a great time.. Here are some pictures from it...

Thanks again Diana for letting Ethan and I tag along on all your many adventures.. We always have a great time!
